Dear members and parents of members,
I am writing to you with a request for help and assistance to ensure that we can continue to run and operate club ice on a Thursday evening.
Over the last few months it has become increasingly difficult to ensure that club ice is run effectively and in a co-ordinated way, to allow the coaching staff and the participants to get the most out of the club ice session. The current committee of GIFSC can no longer run this session without your help.
We urgently need a club ice co-ordinator to run the club ice rota and ensure that there is always someone on hand to take club ice fees and ensure that they are handed over in a timely and organised manner to the club treasurer Giles Penfold. We need to ensure that a club ice sign in sheet is completed and this will enable us to get back on track the issuing of club attendance stars which has sadly fallen behind.
The co-ordinator would also ensure that if the nominated person for the night cannot attend for whatever reason then someone can cover.
We also urgently need volunteers for each club ice session to be in attendance, take the register, collect club ice fees and then hand over the cash box to either the club ice co-ordinator or the next person on the rota. We cannot continue to offer club ice without this and would therefore ask for volunteers to e-mail either myself Robbie Wheeler or Deputy Chairman Viv Watkins to let us know which club ice sessions you could help out at on the following Thursday evenings.
We have covered the senior skater/adult sessions as Lisa Howell has volunteered to do this. The dates are as follows

We will collect all names finalise a rota and put this up on the notice board and also on the web site. Please e-mail your name what dates you could do and your contact phone number and e-mail address. Any one who is interested and willing to take on the club co-ordinator role please also let us know and either Viv or myself will fully brief you.
Please do think about helping out - this is a club run by volunteers for the benefit of club members and we want to make sure that we continue to do this for many months to come.
